Sem 8 Refresher Course by Mr Benny

If u read the msg sent by Mr Benny via Facebook Pharmacy Yes!, he mentioned that he plan to organise a 2-day refreshing course in clinical pharmacy to prepare us for the hospital attachment.


He plan to have it on Tuesday (9/11) and Wednesday (10/11), he wants to know how many people won't be around? Miss Wong has a concern that those not around may complain. This refreshing course will include the 4 hour lectures on paed, mental health, ICU and elderly, a 3-hour workshop on PCP, and 1 hour formative assessment (MCQ). Please reply asap via sms, comment here, or PM me in facebook if u can't make it.

PTPTN loan

just found out and thought i should share. when we applied for PTPTN on 2007, our interest rate was 3%. as we all know, it's now 1%. but the agreement we had with the government (the documents we signed) was 3%. so, if and only if u've signed another document (that says 1%), only then will u get the 1% agreement.

i wasn't sure if we needed to 'kemaskini'. so i contacted IMU. here's what she said.

Thank you for your mail. The ujrah to 1% is only effective from May 2008, if I am not mistaken. So your loan before this date will still be under 3% interest. Yes, you can apply for the change in ujrah for 2008 onwards.

Hope this makes sense. Otherwise you can come and see me.

as u can see above, our tahun kelulusan pinjaman was 2007. hence, tarikh mula kemaskini was 20 sept 2010, not 1 nov 2010 (as seen in FB by some of us). so yes, we can already start doing it now.

after u've clicked the link, fill up your IC and email, check your email, and follow as instructed. then, wait for the documents that would be sent to you by post. sign it and send it back to them. it's like..what we did when we 1st applied for it. :)

Colgate Event @ IMU Tomorrow!

The dental students will be selling Colgate Oral Health Products to raise money for their upcoming community projects (Sponsoring dental treatment of old folk's home, visit to the orphanage...).


Do support them and come by their booth at the IMU DRIVEWAY starting from 9.30am-4pm tomorrow, 16 OCTOBER, Saturday.
The prices are even lower than pharmacies, supermarkets etc..

Oktoberfest?? More like IMU fest!


1. There will be 3 new food choices when you feel exhausted from excessive studying, or just simply feel too hungry.

- every TUE and THU: 10 am to 3pm
- at 3rd floor outside the Library
They will serve the food in disposal containers and will also offer discount if you bring your own containers.

- WEEKDAYS: 4pm to 8.30pm, a set meal is at least RM4.50
- outside student lounge
Assam Fish Restaurant (tentatively)
- daily evening at IMU drive

2. With a clear mind and feeling energised after a sumptous meal, it's time for serious study. Not to worry, there is a TEMPORARY STUDY AREA (till Mar 2011) next to IMU Clinic.

3. However, we need to relax at times. Why don't you take a short trip to Carrefour or Pasar Malam EVERY TUE?
- 7 pm outside IMU (driver could drop you off at Pasar Malam)
- 9 pm at Carrefour
- RM1!!! (1st come 1st serve)

4. Finally, do not miss the HIGHLIGHT of Oct - HALLOWEEN NIGHT (29-Oct-2010). More details will be announced.

Upcoming Food Bazaar! Yummu yum!

The Community Service Club of IMU is having a Community-Oriented Overseas Trip to LAOS from
the 20th - 27th of November 2010. They will be building a small library corner & will be conducting
health screenings for the villagers of MuangKham Village, Luang Prabang.

They need to raise funds for the building of the library corner and for equipment for the health screening sessions,
and therefore are having a Food Bazaar on Monday, 11th October 2010 from 1 pm onwards
at the Atrium.

Please do come and contribute to a worthy cause. Your help is much needed!

Malaysian Pharmacy Students Association (MyPSA)

I met the president of MyPSA when we were in IIUM for the quiz last week. I realised that most of the students from other universities in Malaysia do join MyPSA. I think we shouldn't be left out too. It would be wise for us to keep ourselves updated with other pharmacy students in Malaysia through this association. Here is their website.

Currently, they are selling t-shirts to help raise fund for MyPSA-related activities. Just in case you guys are interested, please approach Kin Man before 7th October 2010. SSD informed me that the payment for PTPTN loan this time around has been delayed, so you will only receive it latest by Mid October.

Natural Family Planning

A message from Mr Benny!

Dear All,

I am organising a talk on Natural Family Planning this coming Friday (3/9/2010) at 10 am - 12 pm at MPH 4.

I am the only speaker. This is on voluntary basis. Target audience is BP1/08 and B1/07. But the room can only contain 100 patients..oopsss..I mean students.. So first come first served ah..

Topics will include:
1. How and why natural family planning.
2. Basic menstrual cycle and BOM method.
3. Some other medical and social advantages of BOM method.

If time permits, we can do some hands-on simple charting.

Volunteer for Blood DOnation drive

Dear all, blood donation drive is back!

And this time, it's BLOOD and ORGANS donation drive. We have invited National Transplant Resource Centre to set up a booth during the 3 days event. Details are as follow:

Date: 6th - 8th September 2010
Time: 10am - 4pm
Venue: IMU 4th floor (in front of LT3)

We are currently still looking for kind volunteers like YOU!
Volunteers job scope would include looking after the registration counter and certificate printing counter. You can choose any time between 10am to 4pm. If you are interested, can send me the details stating your name, batch, phone number and time slot available. We will contact you shortly =)

I think all of us should know that, "SUPER SENIOR" has finally made themselves into the final stage of IMU Chinese Singing Competition!

This gathering is for those who have already graduated such as P107, B105...to come back and share their experience with students in IMU and also allow themselves to get in touch with each other.

Previously it was all done by Ms Aznah (from AAD) herself but she find it too heavy and thus she needs volunteers to help her on executing the jobs.

Super Senior is now on Chinese Singing Competition!

I bet all of us (or almost all of us) have heard of


SUPER JUNIOR and their famous production "SORRY SORRY"


BUT,
did anyone of u know who is Super Senior??



Super Senior (Korean: 슈퍼 시니어), often referred to as SS or Syiok Sendiri (고객님의 충격), is a popular group from IMU formed by B107 Entertainment in 2010. The name of the group was specifically designed as they are now one of the most senior student in IMU, the one that shall not be forgotten at all time.

With a total of 6 members, Loo Wei Wen, King Teck Long, Lam Weng Fai, Wong Wai Han, Fion Lam and Melissa Lim was chosen from millions applicants via auditions held in C1-3-3 by B107 Entertainment in 2009.

And now, they are ready to make their first ever appearance in the public, which is the upcoming IMU Chinese Singing Competition!




So, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR??

Still remember your photoshooting session? Yeah, I just distributed around the photos this morning and I would like to remind you :

1. All the groups please discuss among yourselves for the best group photo. Only one can be chosen.

2. Every group member please choose your best individual photo with prop. Again only one can be chosen.

3. For your convenience, we already seperated the photos into different folders, but just focus on the group and individual with prop. Please do ignore the rest.

4. All the group leaders please compile the selected photos (group and individual) into 1 folder and give me back next week. I will contact you when I'm around imu.

Chinese Singing Competition Details

1. Registration Booth: 19th July (Monday) till 29th July 11.30am to 2.30pm.
2. Food Fair: 2nd August till 11th August at Atrium from 11.30am to 2.30pm.
3. Buy our food, tidbits or any product in exchange of votes.
4. Entrance tickets are sold separately for audition n final : RM 4 each , 2 for RM6
5. Audition night got lucky draw: smaller prizes like drinks n tidbits, bigger prizes like hair salon voucher etc.
6. Final night have performance of guest, such as Amy Wong and Adrian.
7. Registration Fee
Solo-RM7
Group-RM 12 each group
Song composing RM12

8. All contestants are also required to attend the briefing session on 30/7/2010 (Friday) at 12.45pm at SR 1.07.
9. Rehearsal on 2nd August at Lt2
10. Our title is Music Across Generation ( 跨越时代)
11. The prizes are : for Solo n Group
1st Prize: Hamper + RM150 + Trophy + Cert
2nd : Hamper + RM100 + Trophy + Cert
3rd : Hamper + RM50 + Trophy + Cert

For Composing Group:
Only have champion: Hamper + RM150 + Trophy + Cert

12. There are 3 categories in this competition which are Solo, Group and Song Composing. Contestants can participate in either one at the same time. Each contestant will only be allowed to represent one group in each type of presentation. For contestants who have a band, we will categorize you with respect to the number of singers. Means, if your band only 1 people singing, then u r in solo group.

13. Song picking:
a) First round elimination = Contestants are free to pick their own songs
b) Semi – finals = Songs chosen must be from the year 1990-2010
c) Finals = Randomly pick a song that are prepared by the committee members
